February 12, 1948 — January 20, 2011

Barbara Marcia Kennedy, of Thornton (Lake Limestone), passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Thursday, January 20, 2011, at age 62. Barbara was born February 12, 1948 in Price, Utah to William and Dottie Jensen, and lived in Utah until the family moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico when she was sixteen. Barbara grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. She married Gerald Kennedy in 1966, and they lived in Carlsbad, NM, and other locations while they were raising their six children. Kennedy, Jr. of Fort Worth; daughter, Debra Warren of Marquez; son, William Kennedy of Denison; son Mark Kennedy of Waco; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Lauren Kennedy, of Tripoli, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her mother, Dottie Jensen of Carlsbad, NM; former husband and father of her children, Gerald Kennedy of Gatesville; brother, Dale Jensen of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Fonda Johnson of Utah; sister, Connie Fugate of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Joana Burns, of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Evelyn Johnson of Farmington, NM; sister, Kristy Campbell, of Carlsbad, NM; and fiancé, Carl York of Thornton.
