Sue Havard

Sue Havard, of Kosse, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the Bremond Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 93. Visitation will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond, at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 17, 2011, prior to the Mass. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, by Father Celso Yu, with interment following at the Catholic Cemetery in Bremond. Pallbearers will be Robert Beseda, Todd Freeman, Warren Shields, Nathan Havard, Jacob Smith, and Ralph Zwahr. Sue was born August 29, 1917 to Vincent Wisniewski and Eva (Poskrop) Wisniewski in Brenham. She grew up and attended school in Brenham, and then moved to Houston, where she met her husband. She was united in marriage with Grady Havard on August 4, 1945. They lived in Houston where he was employed, until they moved to Kosse. They had made their home in Kosse the past thirty years, and had been married sixty years when he passed away in 2005. Sue was a homemaker and mother, who loved to sew, was an excellent cook, and loved to garden. She was skilled in getting plants to grow. She looked for ways to help everyone. She was an energetic and loving grandmother who enjoyed playing with the grandchildren and great grandchildren as long as her health permitted. Sue was a devout Catholic, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond. She had been a resident at the Bremond Nursing Center for the past six months. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Grady Havard; six brothers and sisters; Son-in-Law, Larry Smith; Son-in-Law, Ray Brantner. She is survived by a son, Joe Havard and Tami Davis of Tomball; Frances Beseda and husband Bobby of Kosse; daughter, Mary Brantner of Kosse; sister, Regina McDonald of Tomball; granddaughters and their husbands, Sheila and Warren Shields of Kosse, Kim and Todd Freeman of Kosse, and Whitney Havard and Lawrence Mann of Corpus Christi; and grandsons and wives, Chad and Brittany Smith of Kosse, Jared and Jaymi Smith of Kosse, and Nathan Havard and Julie Rudle of Tomball; and nine great grandchildren.
