Glenn Dick of Groesbeck passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Providence Hospital surrounded by his family. Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glenn Easterly officiating. Burial will follow at Faulkenberry Cemetery with graveside services under the pavilion. Glenn was born August 24, 1960 in Falfurrias, Texas to Eddy Drew and Theresa (Thomas) Dick. He graduated Groesbeck High in 1979 after playing many years of Goat Baseball. After school, Glenn was employed with the State of Texas Highway Department and began serving the Groesbeck community as a volunteer firefighter for an extended amount of years. Along with his community involvement, he operated heavy equipment in the rock industry for 30 years. Glenn’s final and most notable career was that of a avid retired fisherman in and around the Lake Limestone areas and lawn equipment mechanic. A most distinguishing characteristic of Glenn’s was revolving his life around loving and serving his Mother with light humored joking and kidding and that of his grandchildren and nephew, Logan. Serving as pallbearers are, Dr. Cary Bielamowicz, Logan Stewart, Larry Duke, Willie Johnson, Jimmy Truett, Sr., Rick Fraser, Jerry Gilliam and Clay Wilganowski. Honorary bearers are, Donnie (Tooter) Roberts, Jr. and Ricky McCoy. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddy Drew Dick; granddaughter, Kayle Dawn Dick; grandmother, Thelma Farmer and grandfather, Jack Thomas. Glenn is survived by his daughter, Amber Lopez and husband John (Manny) of Temple; son, Jo Glenn Dick and wife Sara of Temple; sisters, Laura Hampton and Janet Stone both of Groesbeck; mother, Theresa Dick of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Jeffery Beatty, John Lopez, Armando Lopez, Joie Dick, Jo Glenn Dick, Jr., Douley Dick and Mackenzie Dick; very special nephew, niece, great-niece and great-nephew, Logan Stewart, Kristina Aldridge and husband Marcus, Lindsey Truett and husband Justin, Karlyn Truett and Grayson Aldridge.
