Josephine Deans, of Groesbeck, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, at the Christian Care Center in Mesquite, where she had been a resident the past few years. She was 90. Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 16, 2011, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Josephine was born April 16, 1921 in Limestone County to Jessie Lee and Blanche Ione (Smith) Lewis. She attended Groesbeck ISD thru her graduation. Upon High School graduation, she married Coel Deans and they began their life together enjoying each others company and serving the Lord as well as each other. They briefly moved to Houston to start her beautician career. After moving back to Groesbeck, she worked for the Mexia State School as a beautician until her retirement in 1987. Coel and Josephine enjoyed fishing together and after his death, she loved attending afternoon gatherings at churches around the country side singing and worshiping her Lord thru music. In her more recent years, she moved to Mesquite to be closer to her loving sister, Wanda and brother-in-law, James until her death. She has been a member of the Church of Christ all her life. She began attending the Old Union Church of Christ and later moved her membership to the Groesbeck Church of Christ. She is survived by her sister, Wanda Henrichson and husband James of Mesquite, TX; nephew, Kevin Henrichson of Rowlett; nieces, Belinda Campbell and husband Leslie of Mexia and Janice McCollum and husband David of Corsicana; great-nephews & great-nieces; Clayton, Wyatt, Brooke and Taylor Henrichson of Rowlett.
