Martha Lu Anderson

Martha Lu Anderson, of Wortham, was tragically killed in an automobile accident near Groesbeck, on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. She was 67. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Victory Full Gospel Church, in Wortham, TX. Martha had lived in Wortham the past six years and had been employed at the Limestone Medical Center for the last three years as an CNA, working the night shift. She was born November 12, 1943 at Liberty Hill, Texas, to Finis Foster Anderson, Jr. and Lorena Edith Solley Anderson. She grew up and attended school there, and lived in Liberty Hill for most of her life. She had been working in the nursing field prior to moving to Wortham in the past few years to live nearer her children. Martha loved fishing, and arts and crafts, particularly making dolls. She enjoyed her family and really enjoyed when all could get together. She loved music, of all kinds, and was a singer who encouraged the rest of the family to sing. She was of the Baptist faith. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Lorie Barnett of Wortham; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Becky Staton of Groesbeck; granddaughters, Tiffany and husband Mike Laminack of Wortham, and Tara Parker of Wortham; grandsons, Shawn Staton of Leander, Jay Staton and wife Veronica of Killeen, Cody Staton of Groesbeck, Harley Staton of Groesbeck, and Wyatt Staton of Groesbeck; great grandson, Travis Laminack and great granddaughter, Lily Parker of Wortham; niece, Lisa Bartley and husband Greg of Austin; nephew, Thomas Kullenberg, of Austin; and great nephews, Travis Bartley and Matthew Bartley of Austin. In lieu of flowers, any donations will go the Wounded Warrior's Fund or to St.Jude Children's Research Hospital.
