Ike Mike Yezak, Jr.

Ike Mike Yezak, Jr., of Groesbeck (and formerly of Bremond and Marlin), passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Limestone Medical Center, at age 66. A Rosary will be recited at Groesbeck Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, with viewing during the day, and visitation with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Mass and Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luke Allison, Gary Davenport, Kyle Yezak, Dennis Groholski, Mike Groholski, and Kenny Groholski. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Yezak and Layton Nardell. Ike was born April 11, 1947 to Ike Mike Yezak, Sr. and Maggie (Wachel) Yezak in Bremond. He was raised in the Catholic faith. He lived in Bremond until he was twelve, then the family moved to Marlin where he grew up, lived and worked. He learned the butcher trade working under experienced men, and became HEB’s butcher in Marlin, but also working for them in Temple and Mexia as needed. He loved the time spent with his three sons while they were growing up and their baseball and other sports activities. He was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Rangers and Texans. Ike married Florence Eva Reese on March 15, 1998 in Bremond, and they lived in Groesbeck the rest of his life. After he retired from HEB, he continued to work part-time. He also enjoyed raising a garden and fishing. Ike was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Melvin Yezak and James Yezak. He is survived by his wife, Florence Yezak of Groesbeck; sons, Mark Yezak of Marlin, Michael Yezak of Waco, and Matt Yezak of Bremond; sister, Helen Groholski of Bremond; grandson, Dylan Yezak of Marlin; stepsons, Michael Thetford of Killeen, and Brad Thetford of Groesbeck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
