Eric Courtney Chambless passed away unexpectedly at Franklin, Texas on Monday, February 17, 2014. He was 59. A Memorial Service will be scheduled in the near future and the arrangements will be shown on this site. Eric was born September 28, 1954 to Marvin Fitzgerald Chambless, Sr. and Angie (Malaske) Chambless in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He grew up in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School. He was a pipeline welder by trade, and a member of Local 798 Union of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Eric was united in marriage with Sheila Diane Sheehan in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 9, 1977. During his thirty-seven years in the pipeline construction industry, they lived twenty-five years in Midland and the last ten years in Palestine. While his son Eric was growing up he was passionately involved in Eric’s baseball career. He also used his skills in restoring welding machines and old cars. He enjoyed spending his free time on his ranch at Palestine, with his cattle and building fences and barns. His granddaughter Karrli will remember her grandfather teaching her to ride horses. Eric was avidly and passionately involved in the Evangelistic Temple in Palestine and their television evangelism work. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Chambless Sr., his two brothers, Marvin Chambless, Jr. and John Chambless, and a stepdaughter, Stefanie Jejuan. He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Sheila Chambless of Palestine; his son, Eric Chambless II of Palestine; his mother, Angie Patton-Malaske of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Heather Teachey of Wilmington, NC; granddaughters, Karrli Chambless of Wilmington, NC and Addie Teachey of Wilmington, NC; daughter-in-law, Jeannette Smith of Mexia; and granddaughter, Alyssa Anderson of Mexia, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
