Lane Ryan Cordova

Lane Ryan Cordova, of Mart, left his earthly home Wednesday, April 30, 2014, to be a cowboy on God’s big ranch in Heaven. He was four and one-half years old, and had given a lifetime of joy to his dear family. Visitation will be held at Groesbeck Funeral Home on Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elk, (9656 Elk Road).  Monsignor Isidore Rozycki and Father Michael Ajewole will hold the mass and officiate.   Burial will follow in Fort Parker Memorial Park at Groesbeck. Pallbearers will be Bradley Harryman, Issac Fife, David Schneider, and Jacob Schneider.  Brett Cordova and Zachary Schneider will be honorary pallbearers. Lane was born on September 28, 2009, to Timothy James (T.J.) and Catherine Elizabeth (Katie) (Schneider) Cordova at Waco, with an older brother, Colton Cordova waiting for him. He was a natural born cowboy, wanting to be just like his Daddy, dressing in his jeans and button-down shirt and boots from the earliest age.   He was loved by his entire family and all who knew him, and teased by his aunts for being so “beautiful.” But he was tough; he played hard and stayed busy. He loved to go with Daddy on the John Deere tractor to bale hay, or to work cows on his horse, Pecos. He couldn’t wait to go with his brother Colton to the “Sugar Shack” where they pretended to work cows, with his dog, Turbo (who was his best buddy.)  But the first thing he wanted to do there was say "Hey" to Dave and Mr. Steve.   He also loved to go to Mr. Robert's pens to load the trucks.  And when he came home, he ran to his Mother asking for and giving her his “lovin.” Lane loved going to Mimi’s and Big Ron’s house, and he loved to play outside and on the swing at Mimi’s. And it was very important to him to share chips and hot sauce for lunch with Big Ron. His goal in his young life was to grow up to drive a Peter-Bilt “bull-wagon”, hauling cows, and to have a ranch.   While he keeps his beautiful smile and happiness for eternity, those left behind will forever love and cherish his time with them. Lane was preceded in death by his great grandparents, George Stavinoha, James Hall, and Timothy and Bonefacia Cordova. He is survived by his parents, T. J. and Katie Cordova of Mart; brother, Colton James Cordova of Mart; maternal grandparents, Ronald and LaVonne Schneider of Riesel; paternal grandparents, Timothy and Cindy Cordova of Thornton; great grandparents, Ewald and Joyce Schneider of Riesel, Patricia Schneider of Rosenberg, Elizabeth Stavinoha of Needville, and Roberta Hall of Thornton.   Also, his aunts, Traci Cordova of Thornton, Kimberley and Blake Silar of Teague, and Wendy Cordova of Huntsville; uncle, Jacob Schneider of Riesel; cousins, Dasie, Brett, Kendall, and Zachary; and special uncle, David Schneider of Rosenberg; as well as many other extended family and friends.Memorial donations may be made to the "Lane Ryan Cordova Memorial Fund", at Incommons Bank, P.
