David Bradley Bumpurs

David Bradley Bumpurs, of Houston, passed away earlier this week in Houston, at age 58. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Oletha Baptist Church, with Reverend Bill Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the Seale Round Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas E. Grimes, R. Branden Grimes, A. Keegan De Simone, Jacob B. Bumpurs, Daniel A. Casares, and David Rusty Moore. David was born April 21, 1956 to Roman Edward Bumpurs and Mary Lou McCown Bumpurs in Houston. He worked for the Department of Corrections for several years. David was preceded in death by his father, Roman Edward Bumpurs; step-mother, Margaret Bridges Bumpurs; sister, Patricia D. Bumpurs; brother, Harold Haywood Bumpurs; and nephews, James Edward Bumpurs, Jr., L. Randall (Randy) Bumpurs, and Eric Casares. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Bumpurs of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, James Edward and Betty Bumpurs, Sr. of Marquez; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and John De Simone of Bastrop; and brother and sister-in-law, Larry R. and Nickki Bumpurs of Marquez; aunt, Julia Olene Reagan of Marquez; and many nieces and nephews
