Margaret Christine Whitfield

Margaret Christine Whitfield, of Thornton, passed away at Providence Hospital on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at age 79. Margaret was born December 8, 1934, to Everett Dalton Grammer and Amil Bell (Bishop) Grammer in Henderson, North Carolina. Margaret moved to Waco in 1973, and there she met and married John L. Whitfield from Thornton. John and Margaret moved to Thornton thirty years ago, where she raised her children. She was a retired nurse. Margaret enjoyed being a good dancer, and she enjoyed being out and socializing with people; she would talk with everyone she saw whether she knew them or not. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. Margaret had suffered from failing health the past eight years, and resided in Groesbeck LTC Nursing Home the last few months. She is survived by her son, Casey Jay Brown of Thornton and daughter, Shawnee Lee Neumann of Thornton; grandchildren, Chris Brown of Mexia, and Zachary Neumann, Raven Neumann, and Nicholai Neumann of Thornton.
