Emil Rogers, Sr.

Emil Rogers, Sr., 72, of Groesbeck, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at home. Visitation will be held at Groesbeck Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 12, 2015, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Tracy Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the Cobb Cemetery. Emil was born in Buckholts to Maria and Pete Rogers. The family moved to Mexia when he was fourteen, and he lived there many years, and later, lived in Groesbeck for years. He worked for U. S. Silica for forty-three years. He made many friends in his lifetime and was well loved by family and friends. Emil was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Betty Ellis, Lupita Rogers, Matilda Ybarra, Ruperta Reyes, Hilaria O’Geda, Martha Balboa, Candelaria Medina, and Amada Ybarra; and one brother, Conrado Rodriguez. He is survived by one son, Emil Rogers, Jr. and his wife Michelle, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and his first granddaughter, Sadie Olivia Rogers, expected in January. He also has one brother, Lorenzo Rogers of Waco and one sister, Bisento Garcia of Groesbeck, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
