Virginia was born November 19, 1941 to William Odyss Nettles and May Bell (Cundieff) Nettles in Laredo. While she was growing up, the family lived in different locations due to her father’s job with Texaco. Virginia married Flemmin McCoy in 1959 in Arlington, Texas, and three children were born to this union while they lived in Arlington - daughter Deborah in 1960, son Ricky in 1961, and an infant son in 1963 who died soon after birth. The family later moved to Ringgold, Louisiana where they lived until moving to Groesbeck in 1973. Virginia worked at IMC in Mexia, and at Park Plaza Nursing Home and the old Groesbeck Hospital as a nurse’s aid. She and Flemmin parted in 1981, and he passed away in 1984 from a car wreck. Virginia remarried in 1982 to Cleve Ferguson and they lived in Groesbeck. She had many relatives and remained very close with her only brother, Morris Nettles all of her life, and especially as her health problems became severe the last few years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Flemmin McCoy; her infant son, Flemmin Wayne McCoy; and a great grandson, Bradley Reed Noey of Thornton. She will be greatly missed by her brother, Morris Nettles of Lake Limestone, and is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Ann and Mike Masters of Thornton; son and daughter-in-law, Richard “Ricky” Gene and Cindy McCoy of Groesbeck; granddaughter, Angela Dawn Noey of Thornton; grandson, Richard Colton “Colt” McCoy of Bryan-College Station; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Michael Shane and Mychal Masters of Donie; and four great grandchildren: Michael Brandon Noey of Thornton, Braelyn Shae Masters of Donie, Kara Nycole Masters of Donie, and Rhett Lane Masters of Donie.
