Bob was born January 2, 1938 to Ewald Schneider and Hilda (Drymalla) Schneider at Frelsberg.  He attended school in Fayetteville, graduating from St. John’s Catholic School.   He grew up on a cotton farm.  After graduating, he followed the wheat harvest to Wyoming, and then worked as a dragline operator for a gravel pit at Eagle Lake, followed by working for the highway department in road construction at Columbus.   In 1968 he worked for WKM in Missouri City, until he decided to go into business for himself.   In 1983, he moved to Limestone County where his brother was living, and  began his ranching operation and a trucking business, Ewald I. Schneider Trucking, with which he was actively engaged with his wife Joyce and sons for the rest of his life.    Bob married Joyce Peschel on August 6, 1988 in Alief, TX.   She had been his childhood sweetheart, while they had picked cotton together as youngsters.  They made their home in Hempstead from 1988 through 2000, and during that time built a house in Otto.    They moved to their Otto home in 2000. In 1999, Bob decided to build a feed store and tire shop in Groesbeck, S & S Ag Center.   Bob loved to work, and told his sons that work was his hobby.  He and Joyce enjoyed traveling, making three trips to Europe, as well as Alaska and Hawaii, and the Casinos in Louisiana.  They also enjoyed polka dancing.   Bob had a special love for his late cocker spaniel, Misty, who rode in the truck with him everywhere, and was treated to McDonald’s burgers and Blue Bell ice cream. Bob never met a stranger, and would strike up a conversation with anyone.  And he trusted everyone.  He was a member of the Catholic Church all his life.  He worked hard all his life until the day came for his eternal rest (unless there is ranching and trucking in Heaven.) Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald and Hilda Schneider; his brother, Roy Schneider; brother-in-law, Hugo Schertz; his companion (dog) Misty; grandson, Michael Schneider; great grandson, Lane Cordova;and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Ottilie Peschel.
