Beth J. Lyon

Alera Beth Lyon was born on April 28, 1944 to Jack and Nig Johnston in Henderson, Rusk County Texas. She passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Visitation will be held prior to services, at 1-2 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in the First Baptist Church of Kosse. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in the First Baptist Church of Kosse with Rev. Jack Wren officiating. Burial will follow at Mustang Cemetery. She graduated from school in Dallas at Oak Cliff. Beth married Cecil W. Lyon on July 7, 1978 in Fort Worth, Texas. They retired and moved to Kosse in 1987 where they made their home on part of the original Lyon land at Denny Switch. She was active in the community, especially with the kids organizations, was secretary for the Mustang Prairie Cemetery Assoc. and a member of the First Baptist Church in Kosse. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Wayne Ladd, her parents, Jack and Nig Johnston and in-laws, George and Mary Lyon. She is survived by her husband, Cecil W. Lyon of Kosse, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends, all of whom she loved very much as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on the Poovey and Johnston side.
