Mike Lenoel Davis

Mike Lenoel Davis, 47, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. Funeral services are to be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland. Interment will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at the pavilion at the pavilion Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas. He is survived by his parents, Frank Leo and Rita Davis; his loving wife of 13 years, Julie Davis; sons, Luke Lenoel Davis, Chase Franklin Davis; brother; Frank Rucker Davis and wife, Nikki; in-laws, Alice and Steve Franklin; nephew, Noah Davis; niece, Cilcelia Davis; and a host of other family and dear friends. Mike was a guy who liked to think before he spoke, but when he spoke everyone listened. Being a true Texan, Mike loved sports. He eventually learned to love soccer too! Mike was athletic and could hold his own on the tennis court, the basketball court, and the volleyball court. He, and some of his friends who participated together were said to be "deceptively athletic." Mike loved his Houston sports teams. He was a big fan of the Rockets, Texans, his Houston Cougars, the Astros, and Dynamo. Mike was the consummate family man. He adored his wife, Julie, and doted on his sons, Luke & Chase. He became such a fixture at the soccer fields, he ended up becoming a coach and assisted coaching a league and a select team. He loved to teach his boys how to fish and was the most patient Dad ever during these times. His patience paid off as Luke & Chase evolved into his main fishing partners as they grew, requiring less and less oversight. Mike was a great Uncle to his nephew and niece, Noah and Celia. He was known for his selfies every time they were together. Mike loved to take pictures at all events capturing the family moments. Mike got his love of fishing from his childhood and teenage years spent in Groesbeck, Texas and Limestone County area. He frequented places out in the country called: The Maffet Place, The North Place, The Saucier Place, The Home Place, Big Hill, Buffalo Mop, Ben Hur, and The Farm. These back roads led him and his friends to all sorts of hunting and fishing adventures... And quite a bit of mischief too! He was a founding member of the Limestone County Rod & Gun Club and enthusiastically participated in almost every annual hunting and fishing trip which was scheduled in and around the Greater Limestone County area. Mike was a loyal friend and devoted son who could be counted on to drop everything and go where he was needed. He dropped everything countless times to help his parents in their hours of need and was always available for a phone conversation with his mom. Mike loved his work at Texas Children’s Hospital. Although he was a born leader, he excelled at mediation and finding middle ground whenever possible. He had many dear friends from his work and school days who are his dear friends to this day. You could just see the love in his heart and Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
