James R. Owen

James R. “Jim” Owen passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 5, 2018. Visitation is 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Groesbeck Funeral Home. Graveside services are Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Cobb Cemetery, with Chaplain Jon Honea officiating. Jim was born April 23, 1926 in Joshua, Texas. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He retired after 35 years with the Federal Aviation Administration at the Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center. He has been an area rancher for the past 22 years. Jim is survived by his wife, Mae Owen; sons, Bob and wife Janice and Danny and wife Joycelyn; grandson Tommy Jack Jones; granddaughter Elizabeth Reinke and her husband Wesley; and great granddaughter Kinzleigh Faith Reinke. A special “Thank You” is extended to Texas Home Health and Hospice and Dr. Frank Boyd.
