Dorothy Ann Mills, 90, of Groesbeck, Texas died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Windsor Healthcare Residence in Groesbeck. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Pavilion at Faulkenberry Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Nance officiating. Dorothy was born in Calina, TX. to Eli and Senora (Williams) Trotter on December 4, 1927. She grew up in Coolidge and graduated from Coolidge High School. In 1946, she met and married returning WWII veteran Pete Mills, also from Coolige. They moved to Ft. Worth and enjoyed all it had to offer, especially Casa Manana and the shopping malls. In 1947, their daughter Donna was born, and she grew up in Ft. Worth. With Pete’s 40-year retirement in 1986, they returned to Limestone County to be close to relatives and friends here in Groesbeck. Dorothy was a homemaker with a true flair for decorating and design, usually selecting colors and having ideas years before they became ‘on trend’. Loving the outdoors, she enjoyed early mornings tending to flowers and her beloved song birds and hummers. Dorothy became a resident of Windsor eight months ago following emergency surgery. There she was surrounded by love and care and respect from the wonderful staff at Windsor. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Pete; her son-in-law, Jay Siler; two sisters, Lorene Thompson and Laurice Miller and her brother, Troy Trotter; and Pete’s sisters, Turzie Howell, Barbara Miller and Clara Wade; and other close relatives. She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Siler of Groesbeck; grandson, Gage Siler of Sugarland; and great grandson, Nicholas Siler of Conroe; and nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Thornton Methodist Church or Providence Hospice (Mexia.)
