Raymond "Pee-Wee" Louis Lenamond

October 4, 1957 — October 18, 2010

Raymond Louis “Pee-Wee” Lenamond, of Groesbeck, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 at his residence, at age 53. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at the Church on the Rock, with Brother Glenn Easterly officiating. Burial will follow at the Cobb Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Baggs, Chesley Masters, Bubba Sullivan, Chace Sullivan, Jon Ward, Eric Lundh, Little Ronnie Spivy, and Desi Lenamond. Raymond was born on October 4, 1957 to Arnold James Lenamond and Susie Mae Shriver, at Mart. He was named Pee-Wee by his seven brohers and sisters. Pee-Wee’s father passed away when he was three, and he was raised from age four by his step-father, Earl Armstrong, whom he dearly loved as a father. He graduated from Groesbeck High School, class of 1977. Pee-Wee worked all his life in the oil fields and driving trucks. He delivered propane for Mexia Propane for twenty years, and was currently employed by Star Tex. He was married to Freda Winstead; they have been together thirty years, living near Groesbeck and raising their family. Pee-Wee was a loving husband and father. He was generous and kind-hearted, and would help anyone, using his last dollar if it was needed. He was more of a giver than a taker. He enjoyed fishing, but especially enjoyed relaxing in his recliner and watching Westerns, or playing with his grandchildren. He played everything with them, including dominoes or anything they wanted to do outside. He loved to pick on his great nieces and nephews, and teased everyone in the family by picking on them. Pee-Wee was a member of Masonic Lodge #486 of Thornton. Pee-Wee was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Lenamond; his mother, Susie Mae Lenamond Armstrong; his step-father, Earl Armstrong; a brother, Douglas Ray Lenamond; and a grandson, Brenton Louis Lenamond. He is survived by his wife, Freda Lenamond of Groesbeck; son Josh Lenamond and wife Danyell of Thornton; son, Colin Lenamond and wife Amanda of Groesbeck; daughter, Shavaughn Lundh and husband Eric of Thornton; daughter, Samantha Lenamond and husband Jon Ward of Coolidge; eleven grandchildren; sisters, Sue Lown and Billie Masters; and brothers, James Lafayett (Buddy) Lenamond, Ronnie Lenamond, Adam (Skinner) Lenamond, and Jimmy Lenamond and their families, including many nieces and nephews.
