Bobbie Jeanine Turrubiarte, 77, of Groesbeck, TX passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Providence Hospice Place in Waco, TX.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 6-8 PM in the Groesbeck Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 10 AM in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Wilson and Bro. Barry Kasmiroski officiating.  Burial will follow at Cobb Cemetery.

Bobbie was born on December 6, 1941, in Groesbeck to Wayman and Christell Leach.  She attended school for some years in Groesbeck but was a 1960 graduate of Deer Park High School.

Bobbie married Elias (Lee) Turrubiarte on April 1, 1961, and they had three children, David, Adrianna, and Eric.  Eventually, the couple settled back home in Groesbeck where they have lived ever since.  Bobbie was well-respected in the community and often volunteered her time and effort.  She was a room mother throughout all of her children’s schooling and worked tirelessly at fundraisers, homecoming float building, and whatever else was needed.  She was a member of the Maffett Memorial Library Board for a number of years and cooked many pots of chili for suppers to raise money for the library and its expansion.  Many people around the community knew her as someone always willing to help and sacrifice for others.

Bobbie was well-known in the community as an excellent cook.  She retired from Groesbeck ISD having served as food service director for the district.  Bobbie also loved to travel to see new places and beautiful scenery, and she was an avid sports fan.  She especially loved to watch the Groesbeck Goats and the Baylor Bears play football and basketball.

Bobbie was a faithful member of Davis Chapel Church of Christ, and her love of God was most important to her.  She attended services as long as her health permitted and had a lovely singing voice.  She was also well-known by all as a sweet lady who never had a cross word for anyone.

Bobbie is survived by her husband, Elias; son David Turrubiarte and his wife Kim of Groesbeck, daughter Adrianna Miles and her husband Woody of Kosse, TX; son Eric Turrubiarte of Groesbeck; brother Danny Leach of Amarillo, TX; brother-in-law Rodolfo Turrubiarte and his wife Mary Lew of Plano, TX; brother-in-law Fidel Turrubiarte and his wife Glenda of Groesbeck; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
