Bobby Joe Suttle

Bobby Joe Suttle of Kosse passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at Golden Years Nursing Home in Marlin.

Visitation will be from 6-8 on Monday, June 7, 2021 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 11 AM in the First United Methodist Church of Kosse with Pastor John Montgomery officiating.  Burial will follow at Kosse City Cemetery.

Robert (Bobby) Joe Suttle passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Golden Years in Marlin, Texas at the age of 77. He was born on December 14, 1943 to Robert Hugh and Leta Mae (McLelland) Suttle in Falls County.

Bobby Joe attended schools in both Kosse and Houston, Texas. During his high school years, Bobby Joe showed livestock beginning his love for livestock shows and trail rides. He proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves for 6 years where he was able to serve his country and further his education. After a brief career in the computer industry, Bobby Joe moved back to Kosse where he began his career as a truck driver and farmer. During his trucking career, Bobby Joe hauled everything from cattle to rock. To his trucking friends, he was known as “Blue.” Bobby Joe was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where he served on various committees, his favorites being the BBQ and trail ride committees. 

Bobby Joe married Debra (Debbie) Lynn Giles in Pasadena, Texas on July 8, 1994. Bobby Joe and Debbie resided in Kosse, Texas for the last 27 years where they attended Kosse First United Methodist Church. Bobby Joe was active within their church community serving as the Groundskeeper. 

Bobby Joe is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and special aunts. 

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Debbie (Giles) Suttle of Kosse; sister Suzanne Thompson and husband Donnie of Cypress; sister-in-law Marie Suttle; uncle John Lawrence McLelland and wife Margaret of Manvel; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family; and many beloved friends.
