Dean Christopher Peters of Rowlett, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Rowlett, TX.   Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.  Dean was born on December 8, 1956 in Massachusetts to Gerald and Peggy Peters.   He left Massachusetts after he graduated from high school and moved to the Houston, Texas area.  During his time there, he met and married Vickie Ferrill on June 8, 1984.   In the late 80’s they moved to Lake Limestone, where they had two children.   Dean was a commercial truck driver for many years, working for Airco Gases in Jewett until he transferred to BOC in Terrell.  He loved spending time with his family, grilling, fresh and saltwater fishing, watching Nascar, and flying model planes that he and his children built and flew together. In his younger years, he had a passion for water skiing. Dean spent many vacations back home with his parents in Massachusetts along with his family.  Showing them all the special places and times that he had spent there growing up, from Marshfield to the Cape. Throughout his lifetime, he was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.   He was a true friend that was always willing to lend a helping hand.  His best attribute was long talks spent with his children about life or troubles they were facing.   He will be always loved and greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Ferrill; son, Christopher Peters and wife, Amanda of Nevada, TX;  daughter, Lauren Peters of Rowlett, TX; four grandchildren: Madison, Ashlynn, Kerrigan and Britney; parents, Gerald and Peggy Peters of Massachusetts; brothers, David Peters and wife Pen along with nephew Brian of Colorado, and Tim Peters and wife Val of Massachusetts; and also brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike Ferrill of Groesbeck, John Ferrill of Groesbeck and Gary and Sheila Hammond of Montgomery;  and numerous nieces, nephews,and extended family.
