Dorothy Crocker of McKinney Texas passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at age 78. Dorothy passed away peacefully surrounded by her children; she has had a long battle with her health but always fought tirelessly until the end. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:30 A.M., on Saturday, December 1, 2018, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ben David Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Faulkenberry Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Michael Crocker, Jeffrey Crocker, Jeffrey Zwolenik, Walter Hess, Walter Hess, Jr., Kevin Hill and Beau Selisker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Eakins, John Jarvis Jr, R.T. Beck, Tommy Smith, Larry Wayne Smith, and James Welsey Eakins.Dorothy was born September 21, 1940 in Groesbeck, Texas to Gordon and Estelle Smith.  She was the wife of David Crocker for over sixty years. David and Dorothy moved back to Texas from Florida in 2009 where they resided in McKinney Texas. Dorothy worked in the dental field for over 25 years until she retired in 2005.   She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  Before Dorothy became ill in 2011, she loved to cook for her family, and Sunday meals were always special.  She enjoyed many activities such as decorating her home and helping her children decorate theirs.   She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, and had a great love for her dogs. Dorothy had a smile and a laugh that could light up a room.  She had a way of treating everyone like family; she was always willing to help others even in times of her illness.  Dorothy will be remembered for her strength through the toughest of times and her kindness to all who knew her.Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Estelle Smith, her husband David Crocker, daughter, Terri Hess and brother Gordon Junior Smith.She is survived by her two sons, Michael Crocker and wife Heidi of Fort Meyers, Florida, and Jeffrey Crocker of Princeton, Texas; daughter, Teresa Zwolenik and husband Jeffrey of Frisco; son-in-law, Walter Hess of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Melissa Hubbard, Walter Hess, Zachary Crocker, Jamie Crocker, Jenna Hess, Nikkole Hill and Erikka Selisker, as well as 11 great grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Helen Eakins of Groesbeck, Shirley Jarvis of Groesbeck, Barbara Davis of Fort Worth, and Judy Turk of Rosenburg; brothers, Larry Smith of Mexia, Tommy and wife June Smith of Frisco; and many nieces and nephews.
