Edward “Eddie” Allen Sheffield Bourgeois, born in Texas City, Texas, on September 30, 1962, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Buffalo, Texas, on July 4, 2025.
Eddie spent the first few years of his life in Texas, then Delaware, before his family settled in Lawtell, Louisiana. He graduated from Lawtell High School, class of 1980.
In September of 1982, he married Glenda Sue Courville, and the following June, they welcomed their first daughter, Allison Michelle, followed by Stephanie in November 1984, and Katherine Suzanne in May 1989. Around 1996, the family of five decided to move to Texas City, Texas, where Eddie worked for many years as a Pressure Vessel Inspector for British Petroleum, Inc. In April of 2003, Eddie and Glenda welcomed their son, Luke Allen. Eddie was a dedicated player and dealer of Texas Hold ‘Em Poker. He also enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, and debating politics.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Glenda Sue (Courville) Bourgeois, and their four children: Allison Bourgeois and partner Pete Garza, Stephanie Cerda and husband Sergio, Katherine Yarbrough and husband RJ, and Private Luke Allen Bourgeois; grandchildren Maxwell Selcer, Rebekah Yarbrough, Abigail Cerda, Zoey Yarbrough, Isaac Cerda, Emily Cerda; and Arabella Garza. He is also survived by his mother, Camille (Fussell) Bourgeois; siblings: Margaret “Chickie” Mounier (Lionel, Jr.), Camille “Bunny” Quebedeaux (Grady), Luke Bourgeois II (Kristie), Regina “Gina” Matthews (Mark), Alyce Richard (Mark), and Desirée “Patti” Pizzolato; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, Luke Bourgeois, his maternal grandparents, John Abe Fussell, and Mamie Dimare F. Christie, and his paternal grandparents Charles & Regina (Guilbeau) Bourgeois.
Funeral Mass will be held:
Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00 am

with interment to follow.
