Edward Lee Collins

Edward Lee Collins, of Groesbeck, passed away at Providence Hospital in Waco on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at age 65.

Eddie was born October 5, 1958, and was formerly a resident at the Mexia State School until 2008, when he became a foster child of Joy Wright, Jr. and Rachelle Johnston, living with them in their home in Groesbeck. 

Eddie had a roommate, Darin Lathrop, in the Wright home, and liked the family dogs, especially Athena and Bobo, who also liked him. He watched TV and movies, with “Back to the Future” being the favorite which made him laugh the most. He enjoyed mealtime and especially liked his desserts. He liked riding anywhere in the car. He was lovingly cared for by the family who provided for all his needs, and he will be missed.

Those left to miss Eddie are his foster parents and roommate, as well as the special friends and other family members, Crystal Wright, Dusty Wright, Joy Wright, III, Stacy Wright, Aevlyn Petty, Phoenix Petty, Charitie Whitman, Kathryn Wright, Claire Puckett, Isaac Johnston and Caleb Johnston.
