Emilia Reyes

Emilia Reyes of Groesbeck passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at her home in Groesbeck.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7 PM all in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mexia on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with Father Richard Dee Du, MF celebrating Mass. A Rite of Committal will follow at Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck.

Emilia was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on August 8, 1941, to Franciso Jimenez and Maria Ines Frias. At a young age of 16, she was united in marriage with Jesus Reyes, and they became the parents of ten children.

Emilia and Jesus and their children moved from Mexico to Mexia, Texas in the 1990s. She has lived in Groesbeck with her daughter Cynthia since 2011. She was a wonderful woman, wife, mother and grandmother. Everybody loved Emilia. She loved gardening, cooking, music, and had a strong Catholic faith. She inspired her family to honor her all her life and they will continue to remember her in their memories.

Emilia was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Reyes in 2011, and a daughter, Rosa Maria Reyes.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Cynthia and Felipe Galvan of Groesbeck, Norma and Juan Robledo of Oklahoma City, OK, Caramen Julia Reyes of Texas, Cecilia Vanesa Reyes of OKC, OK, Enrique and Rosa Reyes of OKC, OK, Ernesto and Basilia Reyes of Mexico, Jose and Patricia Reyes of Mexico, Mario and Patricia Reyes of Mexico, and Homero and Olga Reyes of Wisconsin.

Her many grandchildren are: Shane Galvan, Joan Galvan and wife Liset Galvan, Carlos Galvan, Chrictian E. Reyes, Juan P. Robledo, Jr, Erendida L. Robledo, Edgar E.
