Lane was born on July 21, 1958, to T.J. and Chelsia (Ferguson) Taylor.
A true outdoorsman, Lane found joy in hunting, fishing, and tinkering in his shop. He especially cherished Saturday nights spent at the domino table with his friends and family.
Lane found great purpose in working with his hands and took pride in his craftsmanship, which was widely recognized. He was considered one of the best welders in Texas. More importantly, it was his heart and dedication to his family that defined him.
Lane was a humble, kind, and generous man. His love for his wife Kim, whom he married on October 28, 1978, was steadfast and served as a model of devotion for their three daughters.
Lane and Kim created a loving home where faith and family were at the center. Their daughters found that same love in their own lives, and in return, gave Lane his greatest joys—his grandchildren. Lane absolutely lived for them.
Whether at a roping, a rodeo, a stock show, or a ballgame, Lane could always be found cheering on his grandkids, just as he had done for his own daughters.
Lane is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kim Taylor; daughters Nicki (Conrad) Hagen and Kasey (Wade) Ladd; grandchildren Weston Hagen, Rhett Hagen, Myli Ladd, Hays Catalena, and Kaki Ladd; his brother Terry (Susan) Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom he loved dearly. Lane also leaves behind a special brother-in-law and best friend, Randy (Kathy) O’Bryant.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lana (Taylor) Venable, and his parents, T.J. and Chelsia (Ferguson) Taylor.
Lane Taylor will be remembered for his unwavering love, strong faith, and the legacy of kindness and family he leaves behind.
