Frank "Bubba" Lee Nelson, Jr.

Frank Lee “Bubba” Nelson, Jr., of East Lake Limestone, passed away in a motorcycle accident in Lake Charles, LA. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at age 37.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Groesbeck Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2021 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Lee Wiler, of the All-Around Cowboy Church of Marquez, officiating.    Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Heaton, Drake Stopher, Alfred Heaton, Orvil Nunez, Preston Broussard, and Aiden Broussard.

Bubba was born May 13, 1984, in Houston to Frank Nelson, Sr. and Belinda Heaton Ard.   While growing up the family lived in several different towns including Vidor, Woodville and Leander.    Red Ard has been like a father to him since 2001.

Bubba worked as a welder’s helper on pipelines all over.   He was in Louisiana preparing to begin work at LSU welding cattle pens and horse stalls.  He enjoyed working with his hands.

Bubba loved hunting, fishing, camping, his dogs, and motorcycles.   He was a member of the All-Around Cowboy Church of Marquez.

Bubba was preceded in death by his father, Frank Nelson, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Alfred Heaton and Jean Heaton; aunt, Kathy; nephew, Quinten; and uncle, Wayne.

He is survived by his mother and father, Belinda Heaton Ard and Red Ard; his daughters, Charla and Jaci; 7 sisters, Amanda, Catherine, Angela, Christina, Kimmie, Stephanie, and Margie; 3 brothers, Seann, Shane, Sterlin; 33 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and 1 great nephew; aunt, Tracy; uncles, Jeffrey, Bubba, Hooty, and Doug; and 8 cousins and grandma, Rosella Davis.
