Jimmy Bruce Pate, of Kosse, passed away at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, on Monday, August 17, 2026, at age 62.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29th following the visitation in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jon Honea officiating.

Urn bearers will be Kali Kamp and Tazz Pate.

Jimmy was born October 27, 1963, in Madisonville and grew up in Houston.

Jimmy was united in marriage with Victoria Lee “Vicki” Rowley on August 13, 1988, in Houston. They had met at Desperados Club and with a short courtship of 3 months, they entered marriage that lasted the next 38 years.

Jimmy worked for Houston Pipe Benders in Houston and drove an hour to work every day from their home in La Porte where they lived and raised their children.

Jimmy and Vicki moved to Kosse in 2018, and he worked for Vistra at Oak Grove Power Plant in Franklin, until his retirement last year.

Jimmy loved to go to the casino, wherever and whenever he could. Even if he was not winning, he enjoyed being there as it cleared his mind. Jimmy never met a stranger; he was a social butterfly who would strike up a conversation whether at the casino or at Walmart. He also loved to hunt and fish all his life, even as child when visiting relatives at Kosse.

Jimmy loved his family. He was a great husband, great Dad and a great Poppy. He was honest as the day is long and would do anything for anybody. Tazz, who was supposed to be Vicki’s pet, chose Jimmy as his companion, and was his service dog and best friend. Jimmy will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him, including Tazz.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Pate of Kosse; son and daughter-in-law, Michal and Cat Pate of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Candace Kamp Sibley and Jeremiah Sibley of Houston; and his grandchildren, Kali Kamp and Austin Sibley. He is survived by his four sisters, Rebecca, Penny, Verna and Pam; sister-in-law, Debbie Rowley; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
