Groesbeck

Jimmy Lynn Truett, Jr., of Groesbeck, passed away at his home, under Hospice care and with his wife at his side, on Monday, January 29, 2024, at age 58.

Jimmy was born February 1, 1965, in Groesbeck, to Jimmy Lynn Truett, Sr. and Carolyn Sue (Baker) Truett Alewine.    He grew up in Groesbeck, where he attended school.

He worked for Hobbs Bonded Fibers for a period of his early life, and then later as a truck driver.

Jimmy was united in marriage with Novella Ruth Clark on May 24, 1984, in Groesbeck.   They moved to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico when Jimmy became a truck driver for Hamilton Construction Co. in New Mexico.   They moved back to Groesbeck about six years later.

Jimmy loved to fish and ride his scooter around the back roads.  After his health declined, he retired from truck driving and used his mechanical talent to work on vehicles for the public at his house.

Jimmy is survived by his parents, Jimmy L. Truett, Sr. and Carolyn Alewine; his wife, Novella Truett of Groesbeck; and four children and their spouses: Justin Lynn Truett and wife Lindsey of Groesbeck, Amber Michelle Llanglais and husband Michael of Teague, Rebekah Mahala Castaneda and husband Pedro of Groesbeck, and Eric Christopher Truett and wife Tristy of Groesbeck.  His eleven grandchildren are:  Karlyn, Hailey, Wyatt, Eli, Lilli, Lilly, Lukah, J.P., Nicki, Katie, and Josh.   He is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Regina and Bill Lloyd of Kosse and Melissa and Ricky Lloyd of Kosse; nieces and nephews; and Novella’s family members; and also by his dog, Fred, who was his great companion.
