Johanna “JoJo” Cherie Ferguson of Groesbeck passed away Saturday, January 19,2019 along with her husband, Daryl Ferguson, Jr. A visitation honoring Johanna's life will be 12 Noon through 2 PM, prior to services on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Living Proof Church of Groesbeck as Johanna's family is honoring her request to be cremated. The funeral service honoring Johanna and Daryl will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Living Proof Church of Groesbeck with John Carabin officiating. There was no one else on this earth like JoJo and she was most certainly not one who could possibly be adequately summarized in such a small amount of words. She loved fiercely and each person that met her was changed in some way. She had the biggest heart of anyone we knew and the world got a little quieter when she left it. She was fearless and an amazing mother, sister, daughter, wife, and friend. Johanna loved country music and playing dominoes and her family meant everything to her. Johanna is survived by her children: Bryston, 16, Camden, 15, Kovan, 12, and Jaylee, 6. She also leaves behind her parents, Cheryl Denton and stepfather Jerry “Otis” of Warrenville, South Carolina, Joe Bill Matous, Sr. and stepmother Beth of Bryan, Texas as well as her grandfather, Billy Harold Murphy of Bryan, Texas and mother in law Judy Ferguson of Groesbeck, Texas. She is also survived by a large number of siblings including Jack Matous, Jessica McMurray and her husband Bryan, Janelle Matous, Justin Matous and his wife Lyndie, Jennifer Matous, Jessica Matous, Erin Denton, and Brittany McAlwee. Johanna was also blessed with 19 nieces and nephews that she adored as well as too many aunts, uncles and cousins for this space to allow.  She is preceded in death by her brother, Joe Bill Matous, Jr., grandparents Joe and Betty Matous, Jack and Jonnie Cheatham, Martha Murphy, and Edward and Elizabeth Denton. She is also preceded by a cousin, Captain William “Iron Bill” Dowling, and an uncle, Lawrence Matous, as well as father in law Daryl Ferguson, Sr.  In lieu of flowers, donations to benefit the Ferguson children can be made through https://www.gofundme.com/johanna-and-daryl-ferguson or to the Memorial Fund for Johanna and Daryl Ferguson at Aggieland Credit Union. The family appreciates all the thoughts, prayers and generosity shown during this difficult time.
