Brooke is the daughter of Laurye Jo (McPherson) Allen, born January 17, 1994, in Dallas, TX., with two older brothers and a sister. She lived in Lancaster as a child and spent hours with her brothers and sister swimming; she also loved riding her bike, bowling, and especially loved her pets more than most anything. She spent many days with mother in the flower shop, where she had her own cot and TV.
Laurye and Brooke moved to Groesbeck when she was young and she attended Groesbeck schools, loved her Prom, participated in the Special Olympics in bowling and basketball earning medals, and graduated with the Class of 2013.
She helped her Mom when Laurye worked at the school and enjoyed the kids when Laurye had daycare and classes in their home. Brooke was a real social butterfly who knew many people and loved speaking to each one when she saw them. She especially loved eating at Los Pepes, and the staff there became like family, even bringing meals to her and her nurses when she was in hospital in Austin.
Brooke loved when her cousins and nieces and nephews were at her house, but also was glad when they left so she could be with her Mom. But frequently (daily) called all her family and friends, sometimes calling Brittany 15-20 times a day, just to say hi. Her smile was so well-known by so many that Facebook posts all mention how she would “light up a room.”
She loved shopping; Target was her favorite store. She loved getting stickers, purses, and jewelry. She enjoyed going to the movies and had been looking forward to seeing “Stitch” this Friday.
Brooke loved her dogs (Milton, who has now gone on), Millie, Koda, Oliver, and cats, Malcolm and Socks.
Brooke spent almost all her life enduring multiple health problems, with more than 17 surgeries, long periods in the hospital and devoted care at home. She always smiled and never complained of hurting; she always wanted to comfort everyone else and was loved by the nurses. Her nurses would even go to the gift shop to bring her gifts. Her “Monk-Monk” (toy monkey) was always by her side and in her arms throughout all her hospital stays and surgeries. If she had an IV, he had an IV, and where she was bandaged, he was bandaged.
Brooke loved going to Sunday School and Church. She was missed when she could not be there, and all were delighted to see her smiling face when she was able to be in worship services.
In addition to her close and loving family, Brooke had many friends and church family who loved her, prayed daily for her and her Mom throughout the trials of her health, rejoiced in her many recoveries from difficult times, and will always cherish her memory.
Brooke was preceded in death by her grandfather, Doc LeNoir in 2010.
She is survived by her lovingly devoted mother, Laurye Allen of Groesbeck; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Brady and Sammy Jo Allen of Lucas, and Brandon and Meagan Allen of Kountze; sister and brother-in-law, Brittanye and Jered Stone of Groesbeck; and her dear grandmother, Matha Ann (Stone) LeNoir of Groesbeck. Also her loving family includes her aunt, Anita Arnold and uncle and aunt, Tony and Dena LeNoir; and her nieces and nephews: Mayce Allen and her fiancé, Zach Bowerman, Heaton Allen, Wyatt Allen, Everett Allen, Maibrye Stone, and Makaulye Stone; many other extended family; friends and church family.
