Kenneth Arvin Laningham, age 83, passed away on June 8, 2026, at Elison Memory Care in Graham, TX.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Groesbeck Funeral Home.
Kenneth was born June 16, 1942, in Mexia, TX to Marvin and Sybil Laningham. He graduated from Mexia High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Sam Houston State University, had served as president of his business fraternity at Sam Houston.
Kenneth was the owner/president of Transworld Logistics, Inc. and traveled the world. Education and being successful were important to Kenneth, and he gifted the opportunity of education to many family members.
He was playful but unwavering in his personal beliefs. He loved to answer the phone with “Joe’s Bar & Grill”. He loved his family fiercely in the way he knew how. Although work was his great passion, he also enjoyed traveling the world, taking Alaskan cruises, and he was also passionate about cars.
He had a big heart for helping those in need. He was humble in his giving, silently passing money to strangers he thought could use a little help, but he never took personal credit. He would say things like “I saw you drop it” and “give thanks to Jesus.”
Kenneth loved animals – probably more than people – and always went above and beyond for animals, whether they were his own or even someone he didn’t know.
He stayed very strong and fought a hard battle with dementia over the past year, and succumbed to the illness the night of June 8, with his loyal best friend by his side, whom he lovingly called and sang “Boolay.” Bullet now resides in Graford with Julia and Al, who are very thankful to still have him as part of the family.
Kenneth had a strong faith in the Church of Christ, and although he worried he wavered from his faith, he always loved the Lord. He was a role model in so many ways and strove to be a loving dad. The family finds it so difficult to say goodbye to their Dad.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Eugene Laningham; mother, Sybil Chapel Laningham Bryant; sister, Kathryn Laningham Outlaw; and brother-in-law, Bill Outlaw.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Eugene and Marcia Laningham of Porter, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Reagan Jones of Gunnison, CO, Julia and Al Padron of Graford, and Jennifer and Darren Bergeron of Madisonville, LA; along wih many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations in memory of Kenneth to a cure for dementia at the foundation of your choice.
