Larry Dossey

Larry Dossey, MD, 85, passed away peacefully with Barbie — his wife, life partner and soulmate — by his side. His soul now resides where the river meets the vast ocean of love.

Born on a small share-cropper cotton farm near Groesbeck, Texas, Larry went on to become a revered medical doctor, battalion surgeon in Vietnam, and author of more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and 13 books that have been translated into numerous languages. He was also interviewed by news media outlets worldwide.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Faye Belzle Dossey and James Leroy Dossey, and his sister, Betty Dossey Stephens.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara Montgomery Dossey.  He is also survived by his twin brother, Dr. Garry Dossey and wife Jane of Groesbeck; his brother-in-law, David Stephens; two nephews, two nieces, three great-nephews and one great-niece.

A virtual celebration and memorial for Larry will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at 2 p.m. MST on www.dosseydossey.com and will be archived for those unable to attend.
