Mike was born on October 13, 1946 in Chappell Hill, TX to Steve and Cecilia Mikolajchak.  He graduated from St. Pius Senior High School in 1965.   He served in the Army from 1967 – 1969.  He was a Vietnam Vet and received multiple medals of honor.

After he was honorably discharged from the Army, Mike began his career as a machinist at Cameron Iron, which changed to Wyman Gorman.  In his younger adult days, he enjoyed trail rides, dancing and going to the lake with family and friends.

On October 12, 1985 he married Maxine Garrison.  They bought a farm near Groesbeck in 1986 for a weekend place to develop into their future home.  They lived in Conroe until Mike retired in 2011, and shortly after that they moved to “The Farm” at Groesbeck.  Mike loved to have his grandchildren and great grandchildren at the farm and to entertain his extended family. He was like a second father/grandfather to his nieces and nephews.  Everyone called him “JaJa” and called Maxine “Busha.”  He liked to cook steaks and barbeque briskets and take barbeque to his friends and neighbors.  He enjoyed working at the farm, and arguing with Maxine about the cows, and meeting and talking with strangers at Walmart.    Actually, he never met a stranger and would speak to everyone and talk to anyone at the auction barn, feed stores, or anywhere.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Steve; his mother, Cecilia; sister, Dorothy Trulock; and son Robert Garrison, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; his daughter and son-in-law,  Ronda and Brian Roberts;  grandsons, Cody Skyvara and wife Kristen, Dusty Roberts and his girlfriend Jordyn Getz, and Nolan Garrison; great grandkids, Olivia, Owen and Henry Skyvara; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Nancy Mikolajchak, Larry and Debbie Mikolajchak; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Butch Bielamowicz; sisters-in-law, Shirley Middleton and husband Roy, Betty Hampton, and Carolyn Lampert and husband Butch.    Also, he has a long list of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews.

Mike will be missed greatly by many.
