Robert Royce Brown

December 15, 1960 — July 11, 2019

Robert Royce Brown, of Groesbeck, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Lakeshore Village Nursing Home in Waco, where he had lived the past year and three months.   He was 58.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Pavilion in Faulkenberry Cemetery.

Robert Royce Brown was born to Nela Faye Wilson Brown and Robert Garland Brown December 15,1960 in Pasadena TX. Robert lived in Pasadena and completed his education at Deer Park High School. As a child, Robert was extremely energetic and entertaining. Anyone who knew Robert found him to have a beautiful loving big heart. Not that he couldn't be quite the prankster.

Robert worked on the Houston Ship Channel in the refineries as a welder helper and a boilermaker. Robert was also an accomplished welder. Robert enjoyed all professional sports especially NASCAR racing. He loved fishing freshwater and salt. He also played an occasional game of golf.

Robert moved to Groesbeck in 1993 and remained in Limestone County. Robert helped with the start-up business hatching and raising Rhea's. He helped with the building, plumbing, and electrical. Robert could do just about anything, mechanic on vehicles and tractors. Later, Robert became a ranch hand and care giver to Velma and Royce Slater until their passing. Robert loved working with the Slater longhorn cattle. Robert won Grand Champion bull in Fort Worth showing King Solomon.

Again showing he still had room in his loving beautiful heart, Robert moved back to Groesbeck to help care for his own Mother and Father. Robert gave of himself until he could not do it any longer.

Robert Royce Brown was preceded in death by brother Douglas E.Brown, mother Nela Faye Wilson Brown and father Robert Garland Brown.

Robert is survived by sister Robinette Mattix and brother-in-law Gary Mattix, a nephew Aaron N. Mattix and niece Stephani Mattix Burnitt and uncles Bobby and Dwain Wilson, wives Debbie and Darla. Uncle Bobby Joe Brown and Maureen Brown and numerous cousins. Also his dear childhood friend Clifford Peck, Randy Slater family, as well as many others who were special to Robert during his life. Robert you are so very missed.
