Ronald Edward “Ronnie” Pettigrew, of Kosse, passed away at home on Thursday, April 24, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Ebenezer Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Waller of the First Baptist Church of Kosse officiating followed by U.S. Army Honors and Masonic Rites.

The pallbearers will be Joe Don Suttle, Kendall Funderburk, Dean Stanford, Kyler Farris, Zach Ingle and Clay Little.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice (Stick) Sneed, Eddy Hamilton, and Ed Simmons.

Ronnie was born November 6, 1943, to RC Pettigrew and Montene (Kelly) Pettigrew in Fort Worth. He grew up in Fort Worth and entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany as a Buck Sergeant.

Ronnie was united in marriage with Bonnie Griner on May 31, 1975 which would have made their 50th anniversary this May. He owned and operated Pettigrew Trucking of Kosse for 40+ years and prior to that was a butcher at Winn Dixie Meat Co. in Fort Worth.

Ronnie, Bonnie, and family are members of the First Baptist Church of Kosse and was a Senior Warden in Eutaw Lodge #233 and Worshipful Master in Marlin Lodge #152.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Montene Matzinger and his father, RC Pettigrew.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Pettigrew of Kosse; son Jeffrey and Stacy Pettigrew of Eddy; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Lou Pettigrew of Kosse; grandchildren: Corbyn Pettigrew of Brenham, Kaitlyn Magnes of College Station, Chelsea Watson of Hilltop, Kyler and Mindy Farris, Katy Farris and fiancé Zack Ingle of Kosse; and great grandchildren: Hollie Magnes, Lane Watson and Braxton Watson.

He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Karen Pettigrew of Springtown, sister, Shelia Adams of Weatherford, and Karolyn Matzinger of Decatur; nephews, Ronnie Eugene Pettigrew and wife Holly of Springtown and Clay Pettigrew and wife Sabrina of Springtown; nieces, Katrina and husband Joe Don Suttle of Kosse and Kristi Pettigrew of Springtown; numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his lifelong friends and Army buddies, Andy Anderson and Tee Griffin.
