Steven "Steve" Patrick Stewart

Steven “Steve” Patrick Stewart, of Groesbeck/Lake Limestone, passed away at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at age 59.

Steve was born July 16, 1962, to Marron Stewart and Anita (Griffin) Stewart at Kirbyville (Jasper County), Texas.   He grew up in Kirbyville where he graduated from high school.

Steve lived in Normangee about thirty years ago and worked for the power plant in Jewett.   He moved to Groesbeck while still working at the power plant, and later worked for the City of Groesbeck.   Steve served as a Volunteer Fireman at Groesbeck and attended Fire School at Texas A&M University.  He worked for the City of Groesbeck, until he retired after health complications.

Steve had a passion for hunting, fishing and dancing, and was one of the best dancers around.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mike Stewart; and his two sisters, Wendy Stewart and Tracy Stewart Singh.

He is survived by his son, Logan Marron Stewart of Groesbeck; Logan’s mother, Janet Dick Stone of Groesbeck and all of the Dick family; a brother, Jeff Stewart of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Jana Stewart of Kirbyville; nieces, Amy Lopez and husband Paul of Vidor and Kayla Torres of Pittsburg; and two aunts, Faye Drain of Rowlett and Julia Stewart of Kirbyville.
