Susan Kay Whisler, of Groesbeck, passed away at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest hospital in Waco on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at age 59.
Susan was born on October 4, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Richard Bensing and Delores Bart, and grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, where she graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1986.
Susan was united in marriage with Mickey Whisler, Sr. on October 4, 1986, in Kansas City, Kansas, where they made their home. They later moved to Leavenworth, Kansas and then to Corsicana, Texas.
Susan and Mickey moved to Groesbeck, TX. in 2004. She was a devoted mother and homemaker during her life. Her family was very important to her, especially the grand babies, and also her dogs, with her latest companion pet being “Tiny.” She also liked crafts and most recently making 3-D “Diamond Art.” Susan was of the Catholic faith and believed in Jesus.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Richard; her mother, Delores and her stepdad, Don Bart.
She is survived by her husband, Mickey Whisler, Sr.; son, Mickey Whisler, Jr and wife Chelsea; son, Daniel Charles Whisler; son, Aaron Lee Whisler and wife Olga; and daughter, Cassandra Marie Whisler and her boyfriend Alfredo Cruz Salinas.
Her grandchildren are: Tre Whisler, Matthew Whisler, Arya Skye Whisler, Victor Sotelo and Viviana, Arturo Sotelo and Cierah, Jesse Esparza, Jordan Whisler, Natalie Rozalynn Tovar and Eliana Kay Medina. The great grandchildren are: Myah, Melanie, Messiah, and Saint Sotelo.
She is survived by her sister and brother and their spouses, Kathy and Gary Legg and Richard and Debbie Bensing.
She will also be missed by friends, Janie Aparicio, Jeremy Nyagoko, Jesus Sanchez, and Sandy Baker.
