Terrance Glen "Terry" Killingsworth

September 7, 1956 — July 6, 2025

Mexia

Terrance (Terry) Glen Killingsworth, a man whose life was deeply rooted in the land and devoted to his family, was born on September 7, 1956, in Houston, Texas, to Glen and Margaret Ann (Thomas) Killingsworth. He passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, unwavering love, and a quiet strength that defined him.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9,2025, from 10 - 11:30 am in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Little Flock Cemetery, with Reverend Tracy Sims officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Killingsworth, Chase Killingsworth, Chris Cockerham, Sloan Killingsworth, Randy O’Bryant, Chad O’Bryant, Paul Barger, JJ Thomas, and Rick Thomas.

Terry’s early life saw him operate his own milk truck route in the bustling city of Houston, a testament to his industrious nature from a young age. However, his true calling lay in the expansive landscapes of Texas. He was best known as a dedicated rancher, a profession he embraced with passion and skill, working for numerous large ranches in the Limestone County area. The rhythm of ranch life, the responsibility of caring for livestock, and the vast open spaces resonated deeply with his spirit.

In 1982, Terry embarked on another significant chapter of his life when he married. Together with his wife, he raised three children: Terra, Shane, and Chase. His children grew up amidst the daily realities of ranching, learning firsthand the values of resilience and dedication from their father. The ranches he worked were not just his workplaces; they were the settings for cherished family memories and the foundation of his children's upbringing.

Later in life, Terry transitioned to working on the pipeline, a demanding profession that often took him away from home. Despite the distance and the challenging nature of the work, his heart always remained with his loved ones. He unfailingly returned home to his family, demonstrating a profound and enduring love that was the cornerstone of his life.

Terry’s memory will be cherished by his devoted children: Terra and her husband Chris Cockerham, Shane Killingsworth, and Chase Killingsworth. He was a proud grandfather to Piper Cockerham, Savannah Killingsworth, Mayci Cockerham, Scarlett Killingsworth, and Sloan Killingsworth, who brought immense joy to his later years. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Kim and her husband Lane Taylor, and Kathy and her husband Randy O’Bryant.  His numerous nieces and nephews will also deeply miss his presence and guidance.

Terry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Glen and Margaret Ann, his dear Aunt Billie Swearingen, and his special cousin Rick Thomas. Their memories, like his own, will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

Terry Glen Killingsworth's life was a testament to a man who lived with purpose, worked with conviction, and loved without reservation. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
