Terrence "Terry" Allison Galloway

October 15, 1948 — July 18, 2018

Terrence “Terry” Allison Galloway passed away at home on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at age 69. Terry was born on October 15, 1948 to Jack Wayne Galloway and Olive Maurine (Allison) Galloway in Franklin, in the Galloway family home. He and his two brothers and sister grew up all over the country, as his Dad was transferred in the Air Force. He graduated from Kinley High School in California in 1967 and later he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Houston. Terry worked as a Dental Tech, in dental labs with his sister in the Houston area, and lived in Houston most of his adult life. The dental lab later moved to Jewett, and the family lived near Marquez while he worked there, and then moved to Groesbeck in 2013.Terry was united in marriage with Polly Ruth Keene in Marquez on December 23, 1984. Terry was a very skilled perfectionist not only in his work in the dental field but in his other interests in life. His mother was an artist and he used his artistic skills in his work, and he also loved to sketch. He became interested in growing and breeding daylilies, when his son was in Boy Scouts and they visited a daylily farm in Spring for a scout project. Due to his research and work and trips to nurseries, he was successful in raising many lilies and iris at their home near Marquez. It was his pleasure to grow the flowers for he and the family, although he also enjoyed giving away some plants. Fishing was another of his primary interests, as was woodworking. He spent many hours with his son Taylor shopping at Lowes to get the exactly right pieces of wood for his projects, which included special pieces of furniture for the family such as the bedroom suite for his son, and garden benches for family and friends.Terry was preceded In death by his father and mother, Jack and Maurine Galloway; his brothers, Jack Wayne Galloway, Jr. and Robert A. Martin; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth R. Schmidt. He is survived by his wife, Polly Ruth Galloway of Groesbeck; son and daughter-in-law, Taylor Galloway and Alex Nerio of Austin; grandson, Tristan Galloway of Austin; sister, Patricia Schmidt of Jewett; brother, William H. Galloway of Gates, Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Terry’s name to: Texas Home Health, ATTN: Hospice; 8300 Central Park Dr., Suite A, Waco, TX 76712, or to the American Lung Association.
