Terry Paul Thompson

Terry Paul Thompson of Groesbeck, passed away in Mexia on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at age 57.Visitation will be held Friday, June 22, 2018, from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Jon Honea of the Limestone Medical Center officiating.   Music provided by Charlyn Stacy, accompanied by JoAnn Stone. Pallbearers are Richard Comley, Chad Carr, Murray Stacy, Jeremy Colvert, Tom H. Beard, Zach Skierski, and David Hughes. Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Carr and Charles Beard. Following the funeral service, there will be a private burial at Thornton Cemetery with no attendance.Terry was born on June 8, 1961, to Paul Thompson and Betty Beard Thompson in Pasadena, Texas. Terry grew up and attended school in the Beaumont area. After completing high school, he attended TSTC where he received a degree in diesel mechanics. His work career as a mechanic brought him to Groesbeck where he was employed by companies such as HL&P, Headwaters, and Luminant.Terry was baptized at First Baptist Church Groesbeck along with his son Tyler. He was a devoted father to his two children, Brooke and Tyler.Terry was preceded in death by his father, Paul Thompson; grandparents, Horace & Neva Beard and Allman & R.D. Thompson. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Betty Thompson of Houston and a brother, Blake Thompson of Austin; his children, Brooke Thompson of Groesbeck and Tyler Thompson of Waco; his grandchildren, Natalie, Lannie, Gabriel, Landon, and Eli. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.Memorials may be made to the Thornton Cemetery Association (POBox 392, Thornton, TX 76687) or First Baptist Church (306 N.
