Wanda Sue Sutton

Wanda Sue Sutton, 71, of Thornton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 30, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Wanda lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Granny, sister, and dear friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into caring for those she loved.

Wanda loved the Lord, loved her family, and loved people well. She found joy in worship, singing in church, quilting, gardening, and spending time with those she cared about. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Being a wife, mother, and Granny was her greatest joy. She celebrated with her family during the good times, prayed with them through the difficult ones, and was always ready with encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Wanda's faith and strength carried her throughout her life, especially in her final days. She faced life with courage, determination, and grace, never losing the deep trust she placed in the Lord. Her legacy is one of faith, resilience, kindness, and love.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Robert Sutton; her sons, Robert Jason Sutton; Jeremy Sutton and wife Jennifer Sutton and daughter, Jennie Sutton.

She was a proud grandmother to Kylie Patch and husband Cameron Patch, Samantha Redus and partner Karl Budde, Sydney Sutton, Maddie Quarles, Nathan Quarles, Ryan Rossy, and Reed Rossy. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Ava Patch and Theodore Redus.

Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Sam Mena; her mother, Francis Bates; and her sister, Sharon Wisnowski.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Groesbeck Funeral Home in Groesbeck, Texas, followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Mackenzie Cemetery in Thornton, Texas.

While saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, we find comfort in knowing that Wanda is no longer suffering and is resting in the arms of her Savior. We will miss her every day, but her love, faith, and the memories she gave us will remain with us always.
